Executive Bios — Gary Shell
Gary Shell serves as senior vice president, chief financial officer (CFO) and treasurer for EMS Technologies, Inc., a publicly held advanced technology firm with headquarters in Norcross, Ga.
Named to the position in May 2008, Shell has responsibility for the financial affairs of the company, including strategic acquisitions and institutional investor relations. He reports to Paul Domorski, president and CEO.
Shell joined EMS in 1983 as a financial analyst, with responsibility for internal financial reporting and analysis. Most recently, he was vice president, finance and chief accounting officer, a position he’s held since May 2005.
In that capacity, Shell has had principal responsibility for the Company’s accounting policies, financial reporting and tax compliance. He has also had a major role in all of the Company’s strategic activities of the past 25 years, including acquisitions, dispositions, equity offerings and negotiation of bank-financing arrangements.
Shell began his career as an auditor with KPMG in Atlanta, and he is a CPA.
He holds Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees from the University of Georgia.
